The Frenchman won two titles in two days in Romania.

The Frenchman Mewen Tomac, already crowned in the 50m backstroke on Wednesday, won the title of European champion in the 100m backstroke in the short course on Friday in Otopeni (Romania). Tomac won in 49 sec 72 ahead of another Frenchman, Yohann Ndoye-Brouard, second in 49 sec 96. The Italian Lorenzo Mora and the Romanian Andrei Ungur, tied for 3rd, completed the podium (50 sec 04) .

Tomac, who had never won an international medal before this competition, won two titles in two days in Romania. He could add another medal with the 200m backstroke, the heats of which take place on Saturday.
