The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) activated double alert due to forecast cold in CDMX for the first hours of Thursday December 26.

In a first action, it activated an orange alert in Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, Tlalpan and Xochimilcowhere low temperatures of 1 to 3 and frost are expected between 00:00 and 08:00 on Thursday.
Recommendations for the cold in CDMX
Due to these conditions, the capital agency shared the following recommendations for residents of the districts:
- Wear at least three layers of clothing, preferably cotton or wool.
- Use cream to moisturize and protect the skin from the cold.
- Maintain adequate ventilation in spaces with heaters or fireplaces.
- Maintain the vaccination schedule against COVID and influence.

In addition, the SGIRPC yellow alert activated Coyoacán, Iztapalapa, Miguel Hidalgo and Tláhuacwhere low temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees are expected for the same time interval.
For residents of the demarcations, the agency recommended:
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature.
- Eat plenty of water, fruits and vegetables with vitamins A and C.
- Dress appropriately, covering your mouth and nose.
- Go to the nearest health center if you feel unwell.
