The ride ends in a nightmare. Nineteen people were injured, including one seriously, in the accident of a tourist train on Saturday afternoon near Pontarlier (Doubs), obviously following sudden braking, we learned from the prefecture. “There are 18 minor injuries and one serious,” said the same source. “All the injured were transported to Pontarlier hospital”, which triggered the White plan to deal with the influx of patients, it was added.

According to the regional daily L’Est Républicain, the train was traveling at around ten km/h when the accident occurred. Most of the passengers were then seated in the dining car, according to the newspaper. A gendarmerie investigation has been opened, it was further indicated.
