Doubt phone now also available for questions about HPV vaccines

by time news

The Doubt Phone will also open on Monday for people who have questions about the HPV vaccination, which protects against cervical cancer, vaginal cancer, labia cancer, penile cancer, anus cancer and cancer of the mouth and throat.

The vaccination rate for HPV lags considerably behind that of neighboring countries, say those involved. It should be 90 percent, but fluctuates around 63 percent.

The Doubt Phone was initially set up by Erasmus MC for questions about corona vaccines. At first it was the Vaccination Doubt Telephone, but in March it continued as Doubt Telephone. Callers could already ask questions about early detection of colon cancer.

“The following applies to HPV vaccination and corona vaccination as well as to the bowel cancer population screening: people can choose for themselves whether they want it, but I would like them to make their choice based on correct information. About colorectal cancer, as well as about COVID vaccination and about HPV vaccination”, Robin Peeters, internist at Erasmus MC and co-initiator of the Twijfeltelefoon, explains the initiative.
