Kiran has been charged with dowry death, dowry torture, incitement to suicide, harassment, intimidation and solicitation of dowry. The prosecution alleges that Kiran constantly tortured Vismaya with the aim of pushing her to commit suicide.

Kiran was later dismissed from service. The investigation was completed within 90 days under the supervision of IG Harshita Atalloori and the chargesheet was filed on September 10. The trial is set to begin on January 10. Completed on the 18th of this month. The apex court had granted bail to Kiran a month ago as the trial was nearing completion.

Torture over the car

The couple got married on May 31, 2019. The prosecution alleges that the torture was over a car given as a dowry. In addition to the house attacks, there are testimonies that Kiran Kumar created a problem in Chittumala on August 29, 2020 in public and on January 3, 2021 by asking for the car to be replaced at his house on Vismaya’s floor. The court also accepted phone conversations regarding the dowry dispute as evidence.
