Dozens of Palestinians were killed and injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a school housing displaced people and a medical point in a field hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

According to the WAFA news agency, “Israeli aircraft bombed a school housing displaced people west of Deir al-Balah, killing at least 30 Palestinians, including children and women, in addition to seriously wounding about 100.”

The agency indicated that “ambulance and civil defense crews continue to recover bodies,” noting that “the death toll is likely to rise at any time.”

The medical director at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said: “We are receiving dozens of martyrs and wounded, including children and women, as a result of targeting a medical point in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.”

“We are in dire need of medicines and medical staff to provide care for the injured, and we appeal to the international community to intervene immediately to open the crossings to bring medicines into the Strip,” the hospital spokesman said.

A doctor in the northern Gaza Strip reported the death of the young man, Mohammed Assaf (17 years old), due to malnutrition and drought that the Strip is suffering from as a result of the Israeli war.

The doctor said: “Assaf died due to malnutrition, without the symptoms of malnutrition (known) appearing on his body from the outside, while the organs and systems were eroding and dying from the inside.”

He pointed out that “this is due to the severe poverty of most nutrients, most importantly protein and iron, along with the absence of health care.”

As a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression since October 7, the Gaza Strip is exposed to extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, reaching the point of famine, in light of a severe shortage of food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies.

The death toll from the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has risen to more than 39,175 dead and 90,403 wounded.
