The activities of the “Ninth Eastern International Economic Forum” were launched in the Russian city of Vladivostok, with the participation of President Vladimir Putin and the attendance of participants from dozens of countries.
“The Russian authorities are trying to create important centers of humanitarian and cultural cooperation in the Far East,” President Putin said during his meeting with Vice President of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
Putin added: “We are working to develop this region, the Far East, economically and industrially, and we are also trying to create important centers of humanitarian and cultural cooperation here.”
Putin stressed that “Vladivostok” will become a good destination for cultural exchanges with China and tourists coming from it, and from all over the world.
Putin stressed the importance of Russian-Chinese relations, saying: “Thanks to joint efforts, relations between China and Russia have reached an unprecedented high level. We attach great importance to regional cooperation, and I hope that during today’s meetings and tomorrow’s joint work at the Eastern Economic Forum, we will be able to search and find new areas for our interaction.”
This year’s edition of the Eastern Economic Forum will be held in Vladivostok, Russia, from September 3 to 6, 2024. More than 40 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the forum. The event is a platform for attracting investments to the Russian Far East region. The event is expected to witness the participation of approximately 4,200 people. The Eastern Economic Forum’s 2023 edition resulted in agreements and contracts worth 3.818 trillion rubles.
