The Israeli Ambulance Authority reported, on Tuesday, that more than 20 people were injured while heading to shelters in Israel, after sirens sounded in large areas warning of a missile launch from Yemen.
Magen David Adom reported that “no missiles or direct injuries were reported, but paramedics treated more than 20 people who were injured while heading to shelters, in addition to a number of panic cases.”
A 60-year-old woman was seriously injured after she was hit in the head while speeding toward a protected area in Tel Aviv, according to the Hebrew channel “Makan.”
Nadeem Assi, a paramedic at Magen David Adom, said: “We found a 60-year-old woman lying on the ground in her house, unconscious and suffering from a head injury. Her family members explained that she was injured while heading to the protected area. We provided her with life-saving medical treatment and transported her by ambulance.” To the hospital, where her condition was described as serious and stable.
The Israeli “Makan” channel said in the early hours of Tuesday morning, “Millions of residents in central Israel were forced to enter shelters and fortified areas after the launch of a new missile carried out by the Houthi group towards Israel.”
At dawn today, Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee said in a statement: “A missile launched from Yemen was intercepted before it penetrated Israeli airspace, and the warnings were activated for fear of falling shrapnel as a result of the interception.”
This comes shortly after the Yemeni “Ansar Allah” movement (Houthis) announced yesterday, Monday, the implementation of two military operations against two Israeli military targets in the Ashkelon and Jaffa regions.
It is worth noting that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently announced in a video statement that Israel will continue to move against the Houthis in Yemen, accusing it of threatening global navigation and the international order.
