DPI through INTERPOL captures a Venezuelan citizen with a red notice in Danlí, El Paraíso

Tegucigalpa April 21, 2023. Through coordination carried out by the International Police Unit (INTERPOL) of the Police Investigations Directorate (DPI) and the National Institute of Migration (INM), a Venezuelan citizen was arrested, for having a pending red notice by the commission of four crimes, in the country of Venezuela.

His formal arrest was reported in the city of Danlí, El Paraíso, by a team of DPI agents assigned to INTERPOL-Honduras, who transferred the suspect to the capital, Tegucigalpa.

The captured is a 27-year-old student, of Venezuelan origin, originally from and residing in the state of Zulia, Venezuela.

Said individual was being wanted in his native country for committing the crimes of criminal association, arms and ammunition trafficking, and qualified intentional homicide for futile motives.

Due to the foregoing, the competent authorities of the country of Venezuela issued a red notice and an arrest warrant issued on March 6 of this year by the 3rd Court of First Instance with National Jurisdiction with Jurisdiction Linked to Terrorism and Organized Crime in the Circuit Criminal Court of the Caracas Metropolitan Area.

They immediately coordinated with the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice so that it hears the case and holds the corresponding hearing.

Likewise, the pertinent coordination was carried out with the requesting country, the Republic of Venezuela, so that the corresponding process can be carried out through diplomatic channels.

The DPI continues to work hard to capture people who try to enter the country illegally and who have pending accounts with the courts of other countries.
