jpnn.com – Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Saleh Partaonan Daulay asked the government to pay attention to the security, peace and comfort of the community during the year-end holidays.
This is because the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays this time coincide with the rainy season. There are many potential disasters surrounding many places in Indonesia.
“We have read the news about disasters that have occurred. There were landslides, flash floods, accidents and fires. Many victims are grieving, some of their families even died as a result of the disaster,” said Saleh in a written statement, Friday (27/12/2024 ).
Saleh said this incident seemed to keep repeating itself every year. There is an impression that the government did not anticipate, in fact, BMKG, BNPB and other government institutions had given warnings long ago, but the anticipation that was carried out was not able to prevent the disaster from happening.
“In the holiday season, people should be looking for fun. At least once a year, people relax and calm their minds. Then after the Christmas holidays, they are back to fighting to take care of their wives, children and families,” said the PAN legislator.
Therefore, the government should protect the Nataru holiday and proactively make serious efforts to protect the public.
“Because in my opinion, providing a sense of happiness in the hearts of the people is also a fundamental task of the government,” said the deputy chairman of the DPP PAN.
In this regard, Saleh encouraged the Ministry of Tourism to coordinate with related parties. Monitoring officers must be placed at all tourist attractions. Not only Ministry of Tourism employees, but also local government, police, mass organizations, tourism care groups, and others.
