jpnn.comBANTEN – Member of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Hanna Gayatri criticized the existence of ferry ticket brokers at a number of ports, especially at Merak Harbor, Banten.

He hopes that there will be no more ticket brokers operating at the port during this Eid homecoming, as the conditions of various ports in Indonesia have become much better.

Because, he said, express and regular ferry tickets for Merak-Bakauheni Port for all types of vehicles had been fully booked until Monday (8/4) or H-2 of Eid.

“My hope is that there will be no crowds and most importantly there will be no brokers. “In secret, there are sometimes illegal ticket sales,” said Hanna during the Working Visit of Commission V DPR RI in Tangerang, Banten, Friday (5/4), as quoted from an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

He revealed that the DPR RI Commission V Working Visit Team was monitoring preparations for the 2024 Eid homecoming in Banten Province for land, sea and air transportation modes.

The visit began by visiting the Rest and Service Place (TIP) or rest area KM 43 of the Tangerang-Merak toll road, which is one of the buffer zones used to hold back the speed of vehicles before heading to Merak Harbor and reduce congestion around the port.

Hanna continued, the next monitoring point, namely Sosoro Mall which is directly connected to Merak port, where the DPR RI Commission V Working Visit Team also took the time to directly check the ship belonging to PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) which was docked.

He admitted that he had no idea that the various TIPs, ships, and Sosoro Mall were neatly arranged, clean and nice, including toilets, rooms and so on.

The DPR hopes that there will be no more ticket brokers operating at the port during this Eid homecoming.
