“If possible, we will make a breakthrough this year as a gift from Mr. President to the Indonesian people who will go on Hajj in 2025 so that Mr. President’s image will improve. It turns out that Mr. President Prabowo can actually make breakthroughs not only in one or two fields, “Not only food, even going to Hajj can be cheaper,” said Askweni as quoted from confirmed information in Jakarta, Thursday (2/1).
He said the public hopes that President Prabowo Subianto will be able to bring about better changes, especially regarding the cost of the Hajj.
He then asked the members of the Working Committee (Panja) on Costs for Organizing the Hajj (BPIH) 1446 Hijriah/2025 AD to pay attention to the principles of efficiency and effectiveness in determining the costs and organizing the 2025 Hajj.
“Well, for this reason, the working committee members will pay attention to the principles of efficiency and effectiveness. I hope that the repayment fees from the congregation will not increase by Rp. 9 million (compared to 2024), but will instead decrease by around Rp. 10 to Rp. 9 million from the previous year,” said Askweni.
By paying attention to efficiency and effectiveness, he added, Commission VIII DPR hopes there will be fundamental changes to the implementation of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
“I entrust it to the chairman and deputy chairman and members of the working committee. Later, we will shorten the duration of our stay in Saudi Arabia, either in Mecca or if not in Medina. “So if possible, cut the time from 41 days, for example, to 31 days,” he said.
Previously, the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) proposed the Cost of Organizing the Hajj Pilgrimage (BPIH) for the 1446 Hijriah/2025 Hajj season of IDR 93,389,684 per person.
