A “Brinks” armored truck arrived at the landing strip, with tens of millions of dollars in it destined to be transferred to banks throughout Chile. After the robbers breached the barricade, they planned to hit the security guards standing near Brinks’ armored truck but failed. The security forces managed to thwart the robbery, and a shootout ensued that led to the death of two people: an employee of the airport and one of the armed robbers.

In the documents uploaded to the social networks by one of the workers who were there, you can see very heavy exchanges of fire between the forces. Chile’s deputy interior minister said: “There was an intense exchange of fire. The brave action of the security guards foiled a well-planned robbery, with robbers who were optimally armed.”
