It was the mother of the 11-year-old autistic boy, whose body was found on the banks of the Huveaune river in Marseille on Saturday, who allegedly stabbed her son to death. This 39-year-old woman, without profession, unknown until then to the police services and who was raising her child alone, admitted the facts in police custody on Sunday.

She confessed to first hitting her son on Friday in their apartment in the Capelette district, in the 10th arrondissement of Marseille, then taking him to the “ravine”, the name she gives to the steep banks. de l’Huveaune, and killed him on the spot, with four blows to the chest and throat, using a knife taken from the kitchen.

“She then left the body there and came back shortly after to get rid of things,” said the public prosecutor of Marseille, Dominique Laurens, highlighting the elements collected during the investigation by the judicial police, both at home and along the banks of the Huveaune. The surveillance videos used by the investigators corroborated the mother’s statements, in particular on the fact that the child died on Friday afternoon, even before the report of his disappearance.

The mother had indeed said that her only son had escaped her surveillance on Friday as they went to a park along the Huveaune. She then went to the police station twice, at 5 p.m. and then at 10 p.m., first to report the disappearance and then to get news of the search.

She explained that she was no longer able to manage her son’s crises

The body, which had been hidden in the brush, was finally found around 1 p.m. on Saturday by the boy’s father and uncle, on the banks of the river, about 100 meters from where the boy’s jacket was. child had already been discovered a few hours earlier. Investigators found numerous traces of blood at the scene.

Placed in police custody on Saturday, the mother explained to the investigators that she could no longer manage the crises of her autistic son, his behavioral problems and that she had thought the day of the murder “that it would never end” .

The custody of the mother of the family was extended last night until Monday, the day when she should be referred for her indictment in the context of judicial information which should be opened on the count of murder of a minor under 15 years old.
