The third round of the Europa League closed tonight (Thursday) when Real Betis achieved a dramatic 1:2 away victory over Roma with Luis Henrique deciding the match in their favor in the 88th minute, while Arsenal had no trouble defeating Norwegian Bode Glimt 0:3 at home with a goal celebration against Goalkeeper Nikita Chaikin who grew up in Israel.
Rome – Betis 2:1
After three home games, Jose Mourinho’s record in the Europa League is not promising. He started with a sensational 2:1 loss to the Bulgarian Ludogorets Razgrad, continued with a 3:0 victory over the Finnish Helsinki and although he improved his situation in the local arena with a 1:2 victory over Inter which placed him in sixth place – he recorded another loss.
The game started well for the Giallarossi when in the 34th minute Paulo Dybala took a free kick from 11 meters for a 0:1 advantage, but Guido Rodriguez equalized six minutes later with a spectacular kick from 30 meters. The game was close, but took a sharp turn when in the 88th minute Luis Henrique scored the second for the Andalusians who left with all three points, Zaniolo still had time to receive a straight red for hitting the opponent’s player without the ball. At the end, Betis at the top of the house is perfect with three consecutive victories in the Europa League.
34th minute, a goal! Roma took the lead 0:1: After one of the visiting players touched his hand inside the box, the referee checked VAR and deemed it appropriate to indicate a penalty kick from 11 meters. Paulo Dybala stepped up to kick and dunked to the left as he beat Claudio Bravo.
40th minute, a goal! Real Betis equalized 1:1: The Greens held the ball and drove it until Guido Rodrigues emerged from behind and from 30 yards kicked a powerful half-height shot into the far corner that defeated the hosts.
88th minute, a goal! Real Betis went up to 1:2: Luis Henrique received the cross at the end and from there he made a great kick to the left side of the upper net en route to a dramatic turnaround.
93rd minute, Roma remained with ten players: Nicolas Zaniolo hit one of the Real Betis players without the ball and received the straight red card that took him out of the match.
Arsenal – Bode Guilmet 0:3
The Gunners managed to record a 1:2 away victory in the first round against FC Zurich, while their second round against PSV Eindhoven has not yet taken place, but for the home meeting in London, Mikel Arteta’s team arrived ready and enthusiastic.
As early as the 22nd minute young Eddie Nketiah broke the deadlock in front of an open goal with a rebound, with Rob Holding doubling five minutes later with a strike and in the 85th minute the Portuguese Fabio Vieira was there to close the story and keep Arsenal perfect in the European. On the other hand, the Norwegians recorded their first loss after already beating FC Zurich 1:2 at home and drawing 1:1 away against PSV, when they currently have four points and are in second place in the house.
22nd minute, a goal! Arsenal took the lead 0:1: Kieran Tierney received the ball from the left side in a passing attack and kicked a powerful and sharp ball to the far post, Eddie Nketiah and pushed the rebound in front of an empty net.
27th minute, a goal! Arsenal took the lead 0:2: Kieran Tierney raised a corner from the right and the ball came back to him again, the Arsenal defender raised a second time there was the stopper Rob Holding who hit the far corner.
85th minute, a goal! Arsenal went up to 0:3: Gabriel Jesus helped build the attack in an excellent way and eventually set up Fabio Vieira who smashed into the net.
