Pope Francis urged the members of the general council of TRAPPIST monks to recognize how Jesus fulfilled his dreams, identify us through the Gospel, and reach for the dreams that show us the path of soul searching.

The Pope, who met the members of the general assembly of the TRAPPIST monks of the Cistercian monastic order this Friday, September 16, addressed them on the dream of unity, the dream of participation, the dream of work, and the dream of creation.

The Pope stressed that our dreams should be beautiful, joyous and grateful, and should show the path to soul searching, and that we should work together with Jesus, who received God’s will as his will in his divine human heart and implemented it, and implement God’s holiness.

Calling the apostles as friends and uniting them all, Jesus fulfilled the dream of unity, Jesus fulfilled the dream of participating in the rescue plan by washing his feet and coming to understand the mission, Jesus who fulfilled the dream of participating in the rescue plan with him, patiently teaching them all that he had learned from the Father and sending them to work, Jesus who proclaimed the mission dream, the pure spirit of truth. Pope Francis addressed the members of the General Assembly with biblical quotations saying that Jesus is the one who strengthened them and led them to be formed by the Holy Spirit to guide them in the way of truth.

Pope Francis concluded his speech by congratulating them, asking for the grace of Mother Mary to help them, to live with an open mind in the presence of God, to choose Him anew every day, not to get tired and disappointed, and to live with the ability to do everything with the power of the Holy Spirit.
