India’s Dreesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand duo has made a stunning run to the semi-finals of the All England Badminton Championship in England.

In the women’s doubles quarterfinals, the Indian pair, ranked 17th in the world, beat China’s Li Wen Mei/Liu Juanjuan 21-14, 18-21, 21-12 in 64 minutes.

Currently, the only Indian team in the field is Dreesa/Gayatri. The pair will face South Korea’s Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee in their semi-final.

Defeated: Earlier, in the 2nd round of men’s singles, India’s H.S. Pranai lost 20-22, 21-15, 17-21 to Indonesia’s Anthony Sinizuka Kingting, ranked 3rd.

Another Indian, Lakshaya Sen, fell to Denmark’s Anders Antonsen 13-21, 15-21. Kidambi Srikanth lost 17-21, 15-21 to the 7th ranked Kodai Naroka of Japan.
