On Sunday there are luxury goods reduced by up to 80 percent in the courtyard of the Murkudis store on Potsdamer Strasse. Proceeds go to the women of Iran.

If the Berlin Senate finally had a style officer post, then Andreas Murkudis would be a hot candidate. What this man has not already done for the city; no hard-working civil servant could ever have planned and carried it out in this way.

The fashionable development of the Münzstrasse in the 2000s and later the Potsdamer Strasse with its spectacular multi-brand shops alone had a massive impact on the surrounding districts. On Potsdamer Strasse you can still watch live how, after the store opening in the former printing works of the Tagesspiegel, he is successively followed by others in the area, from brands such as Acne Studios to Paul Smith and Christian Wijnants. This is called urban development from below, and a successful one at the same time. Because the avant-garde beauty of these shops and goods is important for Berlin because they are the professional answer to the ugly branch networks of soulless mass consumption.

But the Berlin fashion entrepreneur does not leave it at that. Instead of resting on Sundays, Murkudis is once again putting on a charity bazaar that should interest many aesthetes. For the second Sunday Charity Market in the large courtyard of Potsdamer Strasse 81 he was again able to win well-sounding names to give us Berliners a reason to donate. There is a large selection of high-quality products to buy; Clothing, accessories, furniture, books, cosmetics and food. All donated by partner brands, neighbors and friends. The clothing is new stock or second-hand goods provided by the brands and sold on the market at a price reduced by up to 80 percent. There will also be a stand with vintage clothing.

All proceeds go 100 percent Háwar.help, a human rights organization launched in 2015 that also supports the struggle of women in Iran. The first Murkudis charity market took place in April 2022 and generated sales of 91,000 euros. At that time, the donations went to Berlin aid organizations that support people in need. A great success that Andreas Murkudis and his team now want to repeat.

The Sunday Charity Market at ANDREAS MURKUDIS will take place on May 14, 2022 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the inner courtyard of Potsdamer Straße 81, 10785 Berlin.
