Washington: Studies have shown that drinking tea 4 times a day can prevent type 2 diabetes.

The annual meeting of the European Union for the Study of Diabetes was held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, from the 19th to the 23rd. In this, a research report carried out at Wuhan University in China was presented. The study was conducted on 10 lakh people over 18 years of age from 8 countries, and it was found that black tea, green tea, and oolong tea have the ability to prevent diabetes.

Studies have shown that consuming 4 cups of any of these teas per day can prevent lifestyle-related type 2 diabetes by up to 17 percent over 10 years.

Jiaying Li, a professor at Wuhan University’s Department of Science and Technology, said, “Our study’s finding that drinking tea can prevent type 2 diabetes is really surprising.”

He said that while drinking tea daily has long been known to be good for health, it is only now becoming clear that drinking tea can prevent diabetes.

Jiaying Li said that 2,583 men and 2,616 women participated in a study conducted in 1997 on whether drinking tea can prevent diabetes, but no information was found in this study, and the study was conducted again in 2009.

He said that the study conducted in September last year was an advanced form of these studies. Jiaying Li stated that 10 lakh 76 thousand 311 people participated in this, and the study was conducted in various categories such as people living in many parts of the world, men, women and age, and mentioned that this study which was conducted on a large scale has given a clear result.
