Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 3: The Conclusion opened in theaters on October 2, targeting a record-breaking opening above Rs 50 crore net in India. Advance bookings crossed Rs 17 crore domestically within 72 hours and reached nearly Rs 50 crore without block seats before release.
Ajay Devgn steps back into the role of Vijay Salgaonkar for Drishyam 3: The Conclusion, marking the final chapter of the Hindi thriller franchise. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film arrived in theaters on Friday, October 2, as early trade estimates pointed toward a historic start at the box office.
Advance Booking Momentum Drives Domestic Pre-Sales
Within 72 hours of opening on September 27, domestic sales crossed the ₹17 crore mark. By the eve of its premiere, the film had accumulated ₹48.98 crore in gross bookings across six show dates, or ₹38.39 crore excluding block seats, spanning 1,503 shows across 333 cinemas in 238 cities according to data from industry tracker Sacnilk.
Across seven open booking days, gross figures including blocked seats reached ₹60.17 crore from approximately 18.02 lakh tickets across 51,570 shows. Friday alone accounted for ₹31.65 crore gross, or ₹27.92 crore without block seats.
For the upcoming weekdays, the advance collections stand at Rs 93.87 lakh for Monday, Rs 91.88 lakh for Tuesday, and Rs 86.37 lakh for Wednesday.

Maharashtra Leads State-Wise Advance Sales
Maharashtra led the state-wise advance sales for the opening day with ₹7.46 crore, accounting for 31 percent of gross collections, followed by Delhi at ₹5.23 crore and Gujarat as reported in trade breakdowns.
Hyderabad follows closely with ₹6.63 lakh, while Ahmedabad is in third place with ₹6.14 lakh.
National Holiday Boosts Opening Day Occupancy
Because October 2 is a national holiday, daytime footfall surged. Trade analysts noted that the feature secured the second-biggest opening of the year, trailing only Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
The film opened to 35 to 40 percent occupancy on Friday morning, with expectations to clear the 40 percent mark by noon noted industry analysts. Afternoon figures recorded by Sacnilk showed the film earning ₹36.70 crore net in India from 9,188 shows by midday. Trade projections anticipated a final opening day net haul above ₹50 crore, with potential to reach ₹60 crore net, comfortably surpassing the final advance booking total of its predecessor, Drishyam 2, which stood at ₹5.09 crore, and exceeding the opening day collection of Singham Again at ₹43.50 crore net.
Cast, Plot, and Franchise Context
Taking over the investigation this time, Rajveer appears fully resolved to dismantle the narrative carefully built by Vijay. Simultaneously, Tabu reprises her role as IGP Meera Deshmukh, keeping alive her relentless pursuit of retribution against Vijay and his household.
The Hindi franchise, adapted from Mohanlal’s Malayalam films, began in 2015 with Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam, followed by Drishyam 2 in 2022. Makers revealed that the film will be different from Mohanlal’s Drishyam 3, placing Vijay in a more vulnerable position as the danger seems to be closing in from multiple directions.

Arriving simultaneously on the release calendar alongside Drishyam 3 are several competitors, namely Sigma, Don’t Trouble The Trouble, Digger, and Verity. Headlined by Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah, Sigma also serves as the directorial debut of Jason Sanjay, whereas the adventure comedy-drama Don’t Trouble The Trouble features Fahadh Faasil under the direction of Shashank Khaitan.
Will the final box office collections surpass the predicted Rs 60 crore net ceiling?
