Drive snails out of the garden: an expert gives advice

In the evening hours at the latest, snails crawl towards the bed of lettuce and hollyhocks. A gardening expert gives tips on how to stop the hungry little animals.

After a heavy rain shower I lay in wait in the evening – and didn’t have to wait long. Suddenly I saw them everywhere: on the path, in the beds and borders, slimy, red-brown monsters pounced on the young shoots. Lupins, lettuce, hollyhocks, even the green of the potato plants were no longer safe. Armed with gloves and a bucket, I did what natural gardeners recommend: I collected the slugs. After two hours I had around 400 animals together.
