Riyadh: In Saudi Arabia, the traffic department has reiterated that the driver will be fined if children sit in the front seat of the vehicle. Even if a child is sitting in the front seat of the vehicle while being picked up by an adult, it will be considered a violation. Children should be seated in their designated seats.

Do not seat children in the front seat, regardless of who is with them. This restriction is for the safety of children. The traffic department also said that if the child needs someone to accompany them, they can sit in the designated seat at the back and then use the seat next to them.

Earlier, the traffic department has clarified that it is a violation of the law to seat children below 10 years of age in the front seat of the car. The traffic has already asked to provide a special seat for children in the back seat and ensure that seat belts are worn.

Officials clarified that the license renewal service through Abshir is only for private vehicles and for renewal of other licenses one should visit the nearest traffic license office. This was clarified in response to the fact that heavy transport license could not be renewed through ‘Abshir’ despite the completion of license fee and medical examination.
