Russian drivers may begin to be fined for installing additional speakers and sound amplifiers in the car if they violate the regulations on allowing the car to operate, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The department explained that the installation of components and items of equipment of the car, not provided for by its design, which can affect road safety, refers to the concept of “changes in the design of the vehicle.”
“According to Part 1. Art. 12.5 of the Administrative Code, for driving a car with malfunctions or in the presence of a ban on its use due to a threat to road safety, liability is provided in the form of a warning or a fine of 500 rubles, ”they said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that the impact of additional items of equipment on traffic safety and the need to register the changes made can be considered in each case.
