We drove the Audi A5 Sportback 40 g-tron for a few days. The name already indicates that the natural gas drive drives up here. At the gas station, the Audi always put a smile on our faces: We never paid more than 20 euros to fill up the tank. The natural gas tanks hold up to 17.3 kilograms, the kilogram currently costs around 1.15 euros in the more substantial H variant, and with an average fuel consumption of 4.56 kilograms, the result is spectacularly low fuel costs of 5.24 euros for 100 kilometers . If the gasoline price breaks the 2-euro mark, natural gas can be an interesting alternative, one that German motorists despise: Less than one percent of new registrations are based on this alternative drive.
