Drone attack on the General Staff of the Russian fleet in Crimea

The General Staff of the Russian Black Sea fleet in Sevastopol was the target of a drone attack on Saturday, which caused no injuries, said the governor of this city on the annexed Crimean peninsula, Mikhail Razvojayev.

“The drone was shot down just above the General Staff of the fleet, fell on the roof and caught fire,” Razvojayev wrote on Telegram.

The incident “did not cause serious damage” or injuries, he said, attributing responsibility for the attack to the Ukrainian forces.

This is the second drone attack on the Russian Black Sea Fleet General Staff in Sevastopol, Crimea, in less than a month.

On July 31, a drone landed in the courtyard of the Fleet General Staff, causing five injuries and causing the cancellation of the festivities planned on the occasion of the Russian Fleet Day, which was celebrated on that date.

This new attack comes as attacks and explosions against Russian infrastructure in Crimea have multiplied.

The anti-aircraft defense system was activated this Saturday in Evpatoria, in western Crimea, according to the governor of the province, Serguei Aksionov.

In the first days of its offensive against Ukraine, Russia conquered part of the Ukrainian south, in particular the region of Jershon, located not far from Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainian forces went on the offensive again with the aim of retaking some territories, and they had some successes.
