General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the head of Sudan’s army, has survived an assassination attempt using a drone that targeted the military base where he was stationed.

Sudan’s army supports the government, which has struck a deal to recognize Israel and establish normal diplomatic relations with it. The army said in a statement that the attack occurred during a graduation ceremony at the Gibet military base, about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the de facto capital Port Sudan on the Red Sea.

Five people were reported killed in the strike. The drone attack was the latest in a series of similar attacks on army positions in recent months and was the closest to Port Sudan. The paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF), the army’s rival in the ongoing conflict, has not claimed responsibility for the attack or commented on the incident.

Earlier, “Kursor” wrote that during the attack on Ismail Haniyeh’s residence in Tehran, in addition to Haniyeh himself, his personal bodyguard Wasim Abu Shaaban was also eliminated. In the same building, but on a different floor, was the Secretary General of “Islamic Jihad”, who, along with the delegation, remained unharmed.

In addition, “Cursor” has already reported that the US Department of Defense responded to the deadly Israeli strikes on Beirut and Tehran, which resulted in the elimination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah’s right-hand man Fuad Shukr and the leader of Hamas’ political wing Ismail Haniyeh.
