narcotics police FamagustaA Nigerian teenager named Miracle Chidera Nathaniel, 26, who had 30 grams of cannabis-type drugs in his possession, was arrested during the operation he carried out in Istanbul.

Nathaniel was brought before the Famagusta District Court yesterday and a 3-day detention order was issued against him.

Prosecutor Fırat Kızıltunçlar, who is conducting the case on behalf of the Prosecutor’s Office, summoned police officer Cüneyt Arkın for sworn testimony to convey the facts about the issue.

Witness police officer Cüneyt Arkın said that the suspect was involved in the crime of “illegal drug possession” that took place in Famagusta on May 25, 2023.

Cüneyt Arkın stated that, in the light of the information he received, he identified and detained the suspect at the entrance of his apartment at 9:45 pm and talked about the search he made at the suspect’s house.

Arkın explained that they found 30 grams of a substance believed to be a cannabis type drug, wrapped in foil paper, and a sensitive scale believed to contain drug residues, in a secret box in the wardrobe in the bedroom of the subject house, and they captured the evidence.

The police demanded a detention order against the suspect in order to carry out the investigation, stating that they would send the items they had seized to the State Chemistry Laboratory affiliated to PGM for examination, and the materials used in the preservation of the items to the PGM Fingerprint Branch.

Evaluating the testimony before her, Senior Judge Çiğdem Güzeler found that the investigation has not been concluded yet and that the police needed time.
