Q-support will start the Q-tour on Wednesday. Meetings are held at seven locations in the Netherlands for people affected by Q fever.
The organization will visit Oss on Wednesday 30 November. From 15:00 to 17:00 there will be a meeting in restaurant Clemens on Willibrordusweg.
According to Q-support, it was difficult to meet the patients during the corona period, which is why this tour is now being held. Aftercare and medical advisers talk to visitors about the questions and problems that exist. In the Netherlands, about 1200 people still suffer from the consequences of a Q fever infection. It was mostly contracted during the 2007-2010 epidemic. The disease first appeared at a goat farm in Herpen.
Most complaints are about severe fatigue, concentration problems and muscle and joint pains. It is comparable to people who suffer from lung COVID, according to Q-support. According to the organization, at least 115 people in the Netherlands have died from the effects of chronic Q fever.
