The iPhone 14 series has just hit the shelves, and rumors have already started about the next generation of Apple devices, which will be officially presented in about a year. Although these are quite early reports and Apple still has time to change its plans, it may be possible to conclude from them whether it makes sense to wait another year to upgrade the device.

This is not very surprising: there were already reports about this in the past, and it is going to be a legal requirement in Europe anyway. In addition, the “dynamic island”, which replaces the camera notch with a hole surrounded by a unique notification display, is about to arrive in the next generation of iPhone devices also for the regular and cheaper models, and will no longer be exclusive to the pro models.
The most successful device in the current series so far, even according to the numbers reported in Israel, is the iPhone Pro Max, and it seems that Apple intends to take advantage of this and further differentiate the largest and most expensive model in the family in the next generation. It will receive a new name: iPhone 15 Ultra, and apart from the large screen, it will present other advantages compared to the iPhone 15 Pro model, which will become a kind of “intermediate device” for Apple.
The reports indicate that the Ultra model will come with two selfie cameras with one equipped with a wider lens, while on the back it will be the first iPhone to be equipped with a periscope lens for improved optical zoom (x5) and will support 8K video recording. In the ultra model, the minimum storage volume will be 256 gigabytes, compared to the iPhone 15 Pro model, which will continue to arrive with 128 gigabytes in the cheapest edition, and the battery will increase and provide up to 4 hours of use.
All this will, of course, be accompanied by another increase in price, which will make the iPhone 15 Ultra the most expensive Apple model to date.
