Dubai is again the world’s busiest airport. According to August, 41 lakh visitors have arrived so far this month. Dubai jumped to the first place, leaving London’s Heathrow airport behind. 34 lakh passengers arrived at Heathrow.
Amsterdam, Paris, Istanbul, Frankfurt, Doha, London’s Gatwick, Singapore and Madrid are among the top ten airports. Dubai also has its share of the busiest airline routes. The busiest routes are Dubai-Riyadh, Mumbai-Dubai and Dubai-Heathrow. London’s Heathrow Airport has recently reduced capacity due to staff cuts. Many flights were canceled due to this. With this, Heathrow was relegated to the second position.
During the first six months of this year, Dubai Airport received 2.79 crore passengers. Compared to the first half of 2021, there was an increase of 161.9 percent. In the months of May and June, around a thousand services were diverted to other airports as the runway was closed for maintenance. More services have also been diverted to Dubai Al Maktoum Airport. This reduced the number of passengers at Dubai Airport.
