Brigadier General Hamouda Belswaida Al Ameri, acting director of the General Department of Airport Security, said Telbach was on a short vacation trip from his hometown of Germany to Thailand via Dubai International Airport. Al-Ameri said Telbak found out that the bag, which contained about 33,600 euros, had been lost when he arrived at a hotel in Thailand.
Telbach could not remember where the bag was lost as he traveled through the international airports of Dൽsseldorf, Dubai and Thailand. Later, on his way back, he was approached at the Dubai airport by an official from the Lost and Found section to confirm Telbak’s identity and return the money.
Telbach thanked Dubai police and airport staff for returning his bag, and he responded that Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world. “He never thought he could make money so easily,” Al-Ameri said.
