Dubai: Dubai Police has introduced a new system to report traffic accidents. This facility is provided under Vehicles and Security Services in the Dubai Now mobile app. With this, vehicle owners can complete procedures related to minor vehicle accidents without waiting for the police to arrive.
The new system is being introduced with the aim of speeding up legal proceedings related to minor road accidents. Officials said that there is no need for users to wait for the police to reach the accident site or to go directly to the police station. Users can log into the Dubai Now app with a special ‘UAE Pass’ and report the vehicle number, cause of the accident, damage caused by the accident to the police along with a picture.
The app will automatically know the location of the user with the help of GPS. Once the accidents are reported, it is possible to receive the police report via e-mail or text message. The new service will also help avoid major traffic jams caused by minor accidents.
The Dubai Now app has more than 130 services that Dubai residents need. The services of more than 30 government and private organizations have been made available in this way. The app has categories like bill payment, mobile, driving, housing, residency, health, education, police, travel, Islam, donation and general.
