The RTA campaign has been launched to raise awareness about the restrictions on scooter riders and the places where it should be driven. It also applies to e-scooters to drive vehicles with some caution in certain areas.
The e-scooter will be licensed in Dubai from the 13th of this month. This will be allowed on selected cycling tracks in 10 districts. The trial operation took place in October 2020. It was a huge success. It was then that the RTA and the Dubai Police gave permission for it to be used on cycling tracks.
Penalties are imposed for causing inconvenience to vehicles or pedestrians. A fine of 200 dirhams will be imposed. Only park in designated areas. Parking will not be allowed in areas other than this. Parking is provided at major tourist attractions and near public transportation stations. In addition, there are certain conditions for e-scooter riders.

Riders must wear clothing and helmets that identify them. Do not use e-scooter to carry goods. Keep a safe distance from pedestrians and other vehicles. The e-scooter should have white headlights, red and reflective lights. If you change lanes while traveling, you must signal. People under the age of 16 are not allowed to ride e-scooters.
