Sold for five months, Decathlon calls on customers of a baby buoy to be reimbursed and warns of a risk of “turning users”.

On sale since February 1, a buoy for babies is now worrying Decathlon. The sports brand has removed it from its shelves since June 26 and encourages people who have purchased it to come and be reimbursed in store, as related Republican East.

The reason for this concern: a risk of drowning. The government site Rappel Conso explains that the product “can turn around”. Indeed, the child “is attached to the buoy and finds his head under water without being able to turn around on his own”.

Now listed as dangerous products, the buoy was nevertheless sold for five months throughout France from February 1 to June 23, 2023. The product identified under the name “BABY LYING RING” comes from the Nabaiji brand. Customers are invited to bring this buoy, red or green depending on the model, back to the store and be reimbursed.
