Due to easterly winds: High air pollution prevails in the Jerusalem and Negev area

by time news

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Ministry of Health warned that today there is high air pollution in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the Jordan Valley, the eastern Negev and the northern Negev. Medium to high air pollution prevails in other areas. The reason for the high air pollution is easterly winds, which cause dust to travel from the direction of Jordan to our area. The ministry said that a gradual improvement in air quality is expected towards the night.
In light of this, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Ministry of Health, recommends that sensitive populations – including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children and pregnant women – avoid strenuous physical activity outside. For the general population it is recommended to reduce strenuous exercise outside.
