The water level in the Svete river near Üziņi has risen by 278 cm.

The Svete parish administration reports that Baložu street has been flooded and the water is also starting to flood the cottages of Atpūta village. At the moment, the houses have not been damaged by the sudden floods, but a couple of summer houses in the village of Atpūtas, including the part of the road on Baložu Street, have been submerged.

The municipality emphasizes that the situation is not critical at the moment, however, as the water level in the river rises, residents should be careful and observe all precautionary measures. Jelgava county municipal services are ready to respond in a crisis situation and provide assistance to residents who need it.

In case of evacuation, residents are invited to contact the head of the Svēte parish administration, Edgar Grinoff, on the phone number 29522868.

The municipality of Jelgava region is following the current situation and, if necessary, will try to cordon off the flooded territory as much as possible. Also, when the amount of water stabilizes, the parish pump will be operated, draining the excess water away.
