Frankfurt – Traditional summer festival canceled!
This week, the Swiss Road Action Group (AGS) has set the date for the Swiss Road Festival in July Sachsenhausen canceled with a “heavy heart”.
“But we are thinking about a date in September”, says Gregor Meyer, the new chairman of AGS and owner of the business and caterers Feinkost Meyer of the FNP. “It would be a pity if this traditional festival died.”
Reason for the cancellation: too high costs for security, counter-terrorism and the diversion of the tram. “Last year we had a high deficit of around 30,000 euros. We were able to compensate thanks to donations. But with the same festival and the same planning, we would have been in deficit again this year. We can’t afford that,” says co-chair Ralf Wagner.
Due to Corona and the late planning, the stand fees had also fallen, and for many stand operators planning was too tight.
