Due to lack of staff, Manosque emergencies forced to close at night

Like many French health establishments, the Manosque hospital (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) suffers from a severe lack of staff. While the emergency department has nine doctors thanks to new recruitment in September, management estimates that 16 are needed for optimal operation, indicates Provence

Thanks to the arrival of the new practitioner, emergencies have managed to limit closures during the day. On the other hand, the situation is much more tense at night and they are forced to close almost daily. This deterioration of services is not taken lightly by the hospital, which believes that the lack of attractiveness of the territory makes recruitment more complex.

The hospital group recently joined forces with the department and the ARS to publish several videos on social networks aimed at attracting new doctors. The CGT, for its part, recommends organizing “an international call for tenders at the PACA region level” in order to bring in foreign doctors.
