A man was sentenced this Thursday in San Juan for brutally beating his partner. Identified by judicial sources as Pablo Nicolás Vila Pellice, he had a 3-year relationship that was involved in unhealthy jealousy. On February 11 they argued and at one point, the woman threw a phone over Vila’s head, who was sleeping, and her response was even more violent.

The sources indicated that Vila took her with both hands by her arms and threw her on the bed. Once there, he pinned her legs over her face, preventing her from breathing. The woman was able to get away in a moment but Vila took her by her arms again, turned her face up on the bed and climbed on top of her torso, staying on top of her in silence for about half an hour until he released her.

Later, they argued again and Vila went further. He took her by the hair and hit the complainant’s face against the bars of the living room window. And she did not stop, because she lashed out with her fist, until the affected person was helped by neighbors, who called 911.

Vila accepted the accusations and an Abbreviated Trial was agreed this Thursday. For the crime of ‘Minor Injuries Aggravated by the relationship’, he received a sentence of 6 months of conditional execution and the prohibition of approaching or disturbing acts towards the victim.
