Dunia Martínez was elected by the Citizen Participation Council (Cpccs), in a tight vote, as the new president of the Judiciary Council.

She will replace Álvaro Román, who will return to his position as substitute in the club.

His name was included in the list of three candidates sent by the National Court of Justice to the Cpccs, along with Telmo Molina and Mario Godoy.

The National Assembly will swear her in on Thursday, July 11 at 8:45 a.m., in virtual mode.

Who is Dunia Martinez?

Her academic profile states that she holds a Master’s degree in Law with a mention in Economic Law from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar. In addition, she has a Doctorate in Jurisprudence and is a lawyer of the courts and tribunals of the Republic of Ecuador from the University of Azuay.
