– With this flawless appearance and condition you have enjoyed to this day, how did you not become, say, an eighty-three-time national football player?
– I also started as a soccer player, but I didn’t reach greater heights, and I had an injury that forced me to stop playing. I knew that I wanted to stay with the sport, I could choose between two paths: youth coach, or what eventually became the winning direction, the referee.

– When did you realize that you had taken on one of the most thankless tasks in the world?
– It becomes clear quite quickly, but I, for example, woke up to it in my second or third game, which was interrupted after I sent off four home players!
I received a lot of threats that they would beat me, but luckily for me the people there did not keep their word.
– The judge’s beating was missed. Otherwise, it probably would have been the end of my career.
– And when it shined?
I’ve always believed that the referee did his job well if they don’t even talk about his activities that day.
– I have a very old memory of a match between Ferencváros and Bőcs, which was fought on Üllői út for promotion from the second division to the NB I. Years later, I met the coach of the Bőcs team, who by then was already working elsewhere. This match came up and he said he didn’t even remember that I was leading. I couldn’t have received more praise from him.
– He also worked at the Beach Soccer World Cup, wasn’t he underrated?
– Those who do this do it because they love the sport. It is true that it is not always a rewarding task, but fortunately there was much more success and positive feedback, which added a lot to my life.
– Do you have any specific plans for the coming years?
– The latest one is not related to football! My children do triathlons and duathlons, and I said that in the fall I will participate in one of the competitions with them! (but only if I can fully prepare for it!)
– Do you want to strive for the maximum there as well?
– Obviously, I will not strive for victory, but for a level that I expect from myself.
ST Solar I. class was won by the Karmacsi Autó team again this year. Zsolték Éliás became a national sensation and won the ornate cup for the 25th time. We also heard this from the excellent team leader.
– This is different from big-field soccer, there are no training sessions, we just do what we love the most: play soccer and play, he declared.
