The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, said that he removed the animated eggplant emoji from the messenger, which had previously provoked a scandal.
The Eggplant Emoji was launched in mid-November. When you clicked on it, an additional animation was played – the eggplant sprinkled with its inner contents. The peach emoji was also introduced, on which the palm spanked. These images have caused many users to associate with certain parts of the body.
These animations are no longer available for use. Durov attributed the disappearance of animation to Apple’s demand. In his channel, he launched a poll with two answer options: which is better – removing the eggplant or completely stopping Telegram from working on all i-devices. At the same time, 62% of those who took part in the survey (at the time of publication of this news) were in favor of the second option.
