Dürr best time of the 1st round of the Méribel slalom, Shiffrin 5th

German Lena Dürr clocked the best time in the first run of the slalom of the Alpine Skiing World Cup finals on Saturday in Méribel, with favorites Petra Vlhova (4th) and Mikaela Shiffrin (5th) finishing further back.

Dürr beat Switzerland’s Michelle Gisin by 37/100 and Slovenia’s Ana Bucik by 40/100.

Vlhova, already assured of the small globe of the specialty, is 4th at 48/100. Shiffrin, winner of the general classification, is only 5th at 66/100, before the second round scheduled at 1:30 p.m.
