Düsseldorf – 30 years ago, Dimitrios Kanellis (51) opened his pastry shop “Byzantio” in Düsseldorf and has already baked several thousand cakes. “But never for a prince!” says the Greek to BILD.
Now it had its premiere. Ten days ago, the city of Düsseldorf commissioned the rectangular baked goods (35 by 50 centimeters), but it was only on Thursday, one day before Prince Harry’s 39th birthday, that Kanellis found out who he was making the chocolate-nut cake for.

It is not known whether Harry and Meghan enjoyed the cake – the two were in a good mood in the arena during the sitting volleyball match between Germany and Poland. “Happy Birthday” played over the loudspeakers and everyone in the audience sang along. After the medal presentation, the couple took time for a few selfies with the fans.

There was pre-heating in the old town
► The prince had already appeared rustic and down-to-earth in Düsseldorf’s old town on Thursday evening. After a long day, Harry, Meghan (42) and a dozen friends went to the “Zum Goldenen Kessel” restaurant. There he celebrated with his friends in the restaurant that belongs to the Schumacher brewery.
