The Dutch prosecutor’s office began reading the indictment in the case of the crash in Ukraine of the Malaysian Boeing (flight MH17), which was shot down in the skies over the Donbas in 2014. The prosecutor insists on the version that the plane was shot down by the Buk air defense missile system from the direction of the village of Pervomaysky, which is controlled by the militia.
“We investigated several scenarios. The most plausible scenario was that flight MH17 was shot down by a Buk air defense missile system from the side of the village of Pervomayskoye (controlled by the militia. – “B”) This position has not changed, “- said the prosecutor Theis Berger at the hearing in the case of the plane crash (quoted by” RIA Novosti “). According to the prosecutor, the four accused in this case are guilty of murder “regardless of whether their target was a military or a civilian plane.”
Also, the representative of the prosecution drew attention to the fact that the trial in the Netherlands can be conducted only over the main accused. At the same time, other persons involved in the tragedy should not go unpunished, Teis Berger said. According to him, the trial over them can be organized in Ukraine. A Malaysian Boeing en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur was shot down in the skies over Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All passengers and crew (298 people) were killed. The defendants in the case are the ex-defense minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Igor Girkin and three of his subordinates – Russians Sergei Dubinsky and Oleg Pulatov, as well as Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko. The hearing on the merits began on June 7 in the Netherlands.
