Mumbai: Despite losing to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the opening match of the IPL 2022, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are looking for veteran Dwayne Bravo. With one more wicket, he could become the highest wicket-taker in the IPL. Bravo is currently with former Mumbai Indians’ Lasith Malinga for 170 wickets. The former West Indies made history today with a three-wicket haul.

Indian veteran spinner Amit Mishra is second in the list. He has 166 wickets. Piyush Chawla is third with 157 wickets. No franchise was willing to take both of them to the team this time. Harbhajan Singh is fourth with 150 wickets. He also retired from active cricket. Malinga is currently the bowling coach of the Rajasthan Royals. Therefore, no other bowlers have come close to Bravo in recent times.

Kolkata players Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana and Sam Billings have been dropped by Bravo today. At the same time, Chennai failed. Kolkata chased down the target by 132 runs, losing just four wickets in 18.3 overs. Ajinkya Rahane was Kolkata’s top scorer with 44 runs. Dwayne Bravo took three wickets for Chennai.

Earlier, MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten 50 off 38 balls to lead Chennai to a comfortable score. Robin Uthappa (28) also put in a good performance. After losing the toss and opting to bat, the defending champions were bowled out by Umesh Yadav for two.

Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field. Both teams are coming down under a new captain. Chennai is led by Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja took over the captaincy from MS Dhoni. Owen Morgan led Kolkata last season. Shreyas Iyer is the captain of Kolkata.
