The epic moment was orchestrated by Grammy host Trevor Noah, who kicked off Sunday’s show by walking over to Adele’s table during her opening monologue and revealing some lesser-known facts about the British singer.

“This is one of the strangest things I found out: The person Adele has always wanted to meet, but never has, is Dwayne Johnson,” she told the star-studded audience at the 65th annual ceremony. “I found out that he is also a big fan of yours.”

Noah joked that while he didn’t have anyone named “Dwayne Johnson,” he did have someone named “The Rock,” before finally making a long-awaited performance.

Unbeknownst to the “Hello” singer, Johnson had come up behind her seat. The stunned singer stood up and received a bear hug from the Hollywood action man.

“Adele meets The Rock, The Rock meets Adele. For the first time in history.” Noah said. “Okay, get to know each other, we’ve got to get on with the show!”
