Kozhikode: DYFI leaders greet the martyr at the church cemetery. DYFI President S Satheesh visited Ingapuzha St. George’s Great Church as part of the Thamarassery block conference and renewed the memory of AV Oommen’s martyrdom.
Oommen was killed in 1972 in Kalika. AV Oommen is a leader who led the struggles for plantation workers. It is not uncommon for the CPM or non-governmental organizations to visit the cemetery at Pallimeda and renew the memory of the martyr.

The CPI’s political publication Navayugam in response to the criticisms leveled at Chinta Weekly, the CPM’s political publication. Criticism of the New Age is that the article in Chintaya is Himalayan nonsense and that the CPM has never been able to accept right and wrong. The CPM is responsible for the emergence of Naxalbari. The article also blames the CPM for giving the youth the desire for armed revolution. EMS is also heavily criticized in the New Age article. In the New Age, it was alleged that the EMS called those in the group racist.
E Ramachandran started his article in Chintavarika criticizing the CPI. The article was against the reference in the document presented before the CPI party congress that the Left would remain a corrective force. The CPI must abandon its communist name and red flag. The CPI (M) has a history of imprisoning its comrades as Chinese spies. Criticism of the thought was that the CPI (M) was an opportunist. After this, Kanam Rajendran had responded that he would reply to the article through party publication. When the CPI came out against the article, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said that it was not an article but a letter.
Since the split in 1964, the CPM and the CPI (M) have been constantly blaming each other. The two are dusting off old differences ahead of the party congresses of both the parties.
