A dynamic march was carried out in the center of Athens by many primary teachers unions with central demands:
-The cancellation of the mergers of thousands of departments in schools all over Greece
-The completion of the monopolization of the newly appointed who illegally do not complete education directors by order of the Ministry
– The abolition of the evaluation that divides schools and teachers into good-bad-mediocre with the ultimate goal of cutting funding and salaries but also the consolidation of a regime of fear & insecurity on the part of teachers
– The cessation of disciplinary proceedings against striking teachers
-Salary increases so that there are no phenomena of teachers sleeping in their cars or in tents
-Recruitment of permanent staff to stop the miserable phenomenon of thousands of vacancies
As was said at the end of the meeting, the struggle will continue with general meetings of the unions and new mobilizations!
In their call, 34 educational unions noted:
“We resolutely continue the fight against the assessment for a year of decisive struggle and victory,” declare 34 primary unions from the field of education and hundreds of workers of the sector from all over the country after a mass meeting held on 10/9.
As they state in their announcement, they are fighting for the defense of public school and work, for us to live differently, with increases in wages and pensions, for public goods in health, education, insurance and rights.
They are now calling for a strike response to the carnage of clashes, authoritarianism, repression and threats of the ministry and the government, all in the general assemblies.
