Daniel Zhang will be replaced by the current executive vice-president of the Chinese giant, Joseph C. Tsai.

The Chinese e-commerce juggernaut Alibaba announced on Tuesday the resignation of its CEO Daniel Zhang, in office for eight years, and his replacement by Joseph C. Tsai, the current executive vice-president of the group.

The latter will officially take office on September 10, said a statement from Alibaba, as the group undertakes a major restructuring of its activities.
